Sarah Elizabeth Eggers, daughter of Bartlett and Clarkey Sanders, born January 11, 1857 in Clinton Co., Indiana. She died May 16, 1935, she was 78 years 4months and 5 days old. She married George Dallas Eggers in 1873. Five sons were born to this union; Charles of Burlington, Cecil of Indianapolis, Ernest of Hammond, Walter and Joe deceased. The aged companion, three sons, four daughter-in-laws, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at Barnard with burial at Barnard cemetery   --- thanks so very much to Marilyn W. for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !.

Roachdale, May 16, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Eggers, 78, wife of George D. Eggers, died at 3 O'clock this afternoon at her home in Roachdale after an illness of eight months with infirmities of old age.
Mrs. Eggers was born 11 January 1857, in Clinton Co, Indiana the daughter of Bartley and Clarkey Sanders. She was married to George Dallas Eggers, 25 March 1873, and was a member of the Old Primitive Baptist Church here.

Survivors besides the husband, are three sons, Dr. Ernest L. Eggers of Hammond, who is president of the city council there; Charles L. Eggers of Burlington, and Cecil Eggers of Indianapolis; eleven Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death.

Mrs. Eggers spent practically all of her life in Roachdale and vicinity.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Barnard Baptist Church, near here, with the Rev. Mr. Walters of Coatesville in charge, and burial at the Barnard Cemetery.
